Douglas DePice: Your Artist
Hello, I've been an artist for more than 50 years, and have had exhibitions worldwide. My art is in the permanent collection of M.O.C.R.A " Museum of Contemporary Religious Art" in St. Louis, Missouri. Also, I Designed the official 2004 poster celebrating Earth Day. The poster design was featured in 17 countries around the world. I also participated in an art exhibition at the Paris Convention Center as well as the Fine Arts Museum of Long Island. I had the honor of exhibiting at the Parsons Truman Gallery, The Cinque Gallery, and The Morristown Museum.
As a dedicated teacher. my educational highlights include creating a national award-winning lesson on 9/11, and receiving a Geraldine R. Dodge grant. During my 46 and a half years teaching, I self published two books titled ,An Art Teachers Drawings of His Students and Interdisciplinary Education; Learning Across the Curriculum. Attentionally, my essay on Interdisciplinary Education was featured in the book titled A Passion For Teaching, edited by Sarah Levine. I also had the honor of winning a national award from the Tribute Museum in NYC for a lesson about 9/11. HBO Came to my classroom for 2 days and filmed that lesson for their HBO documentary What happened September 11.
In my retirement, I have written and illustrated a children's book titled Why Don't I Have a Daddy? It's a story of my daughter's decision to become a single parent by choice, as told to her daughter, Bianca, by her grandmother. See the link below to see or purchase the book.
